Facade is an overview of Chantelle’s chosen concept. She wanted to look deep into the word Facade and what it means, connecting it to her own personal experience and connecting it to today’s society and false appearances. The collection will explore modern shapes and minimalistic tailoring aspects, connecting to the false appearances in modern day society. Chantelle feels that if you wear a suit you have a certain demeanour to yourself and appear strong. The collection will focus on unravelling the suiting/Facade to reveal the emotion. The black fabric symbolises the dark mask of Facade and the sheer print represents emotion. Print is a feature throughout the collection and the colour being the main focus. The print becomes more vivid throughout the collection, representing the emotion taking over the Facade. The print direction has come from research into the physiological properties of colour linking to emotion. The collection is designed for a woman who desires well-made luxury garments with a deeper conceptual meaning that can be worn whenever she wants to wear them. She’s not restricted to a season or trend.
