Created in Birmingham the Midlands Fashion Awards (MFA) celebrates and rewards fashion, creativity, providing emerging designers across Birmingham and the Midlands with the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Jamie has worked in the hairdressing industry for over 10 years and works primarily as Creative Director and Salon manager for independent salon ‘Richards Hairdressing’ which he loves.
During his career in hairdressing he has also acquired a range of experiences in session/fashion hairdressing and in 2015/16 he was part of the Wella Generation Now team working on industry events, shows and projects.
As well as working in his busy salon he has a passion for session/fashion hairdressing. Jamie was introduced to this part of the industry during his time on ‘The Great British Hairdresser,’ television series. Since then he has won a number of awards and finalised in both national and international hair competitions,
he also works freelance which has involved producing/directing and assisting on various projects and collections including high fashion editorials and runway shows. Recently Jamie worked at London Fashion Week and London Men’s Fashion Week, working alongside designers such as Mulberry, KTZ, Sibling, Cottweilier and Vivienne Westwood.
Hair Colour is also a passion of his and he completed the Wella Master Colour degree and with this in mind he would love to get involved with educating about hair colour.
Jamie believe his passion and drive for this beautiful and creative industry will allow him to develop and grow his profile, holding no boundaries. He aims to travel the world and hope to inspire a younger generation to be involved in the industry and bring my experiences and knowledge back to his Salon.
