Created in Birmingham the Midlands Fashion Awards (MFA) celebrates and rewards fashion, creativity, providing emerging designers across Birmingham and the Midlands with the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Daisy’s design concept of a collection of six outfits was based on her study of the natural shapes of Cocoons, Lichen and Moss together with Fungi. She was inspired by the shapes and textures of these natural organisms and purchased fabrics and designed garments that would reflect these.
The colour palette that I chose of emerald green, pale duck egg blue, light brown, gold, navy and pale pink reflected these organisms in their various states of development. The fabrics I used were a mixture of wool, denim, jersey, and cotton drill. In the near future Daisy would like to develop her career in Fabric and Textile design.
